PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision detection system which can accurately determine a failure during traveling even after a collision accident.SOLUTION: This collision detection system has: an X-axis sensor 41 which is smaller in a detection range than first acceleration sensors 11, 12, and detects acceleration in a vehicle fore-and-aft direction; a Y-axis sensor 42 which is smaller in a detection range than second acceleration sensors 21 to 24, and detects acceleration in a vehicle left-and-right direction; and a gyro sensor 44. The collision detection system also comprises a sensor set 4 which is arranged inside a vehicle rather than the first acceleration sensors 11, 12 and the second acceleration sensors 21 to 24, and further comprises a failure determination part 6 which determines the presence or absence of a failure on the basis of a comparison result between a detection value (yaw rate) of the gyro sensor 44 and a yaw rate calculation value which is calculated on the basis of detection values of the X-axis sensor 41 and the Y-axis sensor 42.
