An aerial vehicle (1A) includes a lift generation member (1110) provided in an airframe (1201) in an expandable manner, a manipulation mechanism (1111, 1112) connected to the lift generation member (1110) and configured to manipulate the lift generation member (1110), an expansion apparatus (1115) configured to expand the lift generation member (1110), a control unit (1420) configured to control the manipulation mechanism (1111, 1112), and a falling sensing unit (1421) configured to sense falling of the airframe (1201). The expansion apparatus (1115) is configured to expand the lift generation member (1110) based on a falling sensing signal and the control unit (1420) is configured to start control of the manipulation mechanism (1111, 1112) based on the falling sensing signal.
