The device for protecting, against guiding loss, a guided vehicle provided with a guide member including two V-mounted guide rollers (1, 2) that engage with a first rolling surface (7A) and a second rolling surface (7B) of a guide rail (3), respectively, comprises: a profile member (72) that has a height extending longitudinally and is attached along its length onto a portion of the guide rail between the rolling surfaces; and a unit for attaching the profile member onto the guide rail. The rolling surfaces are located on a side of a longitudinal median plane of the guide rail. The device for protecting, against guiding loss, a guided vehicle provided with a guide member including two V-mounted guide rollers (1, 2) that engage with a first rolling surface (7A) and a second rolling surface (7B) of a guide rail (3), respectively, comprises: a profile member (72) that has a height (greater than 0) extending longitudinally and is attached along its length onto a portion of the guide rail between the first and second rolling surfaces; and a unit for attaching the profile member onto the guide rail. The first and second rolling surfaces are located on a side of a longitudinal median plane of the guide rail. The rollers are provided with flanges. The flanges freely clamp onto the guide rail. The profile member includes a section suitable for guiding the guide member upon a derailment or guiding loss of the guide member when the profile member is attached to the portion of the guide rail. The section has a shape suitable for retaining the flange of the first roller on the side of the median plane that includes the first rolling surface and the flange of the second roller on the side of the median plane including the second rolling surface of the second roller. The height of the profile member varies along a length of minimum value in the end section at a nominal value higher than the minimum value. The section of the profile member is in a form of an isosceles trapezium, where a small base of the isosceles trapezium is fixed to the guide rail. Independent claims are included for: (1) a guide rail; and (2) a method for protecting against guiding loss for a guided vehicle provided with a guide member.
