The invention provides an escalator monitoring method which is applied to an escalator monitoring device and relates to the technical field of elevators, the escalator monitoring device comprises a plurality of information processing modules, and the escalator monitoring method comprises the steps that a plurality of operation parameters of an escalator are collected; at least one of the information processing modules executes a first preset operation so as to collect and store the currently collected operation parameters, and different information processing modules store at least one different operation parameter; polling a plurality of information processing modules, and determining at least one abnormal operation parameter and abnormal time information of the operation parameter according to a polling result to obtain escalator monitoring data; and releasing the escalator monitoring data to the message forwarding server, wherein the escalator monitoring data is configured to enable the escalator fault prediction device to predict the escalator fault according to the escalator monitoring data based on the support vector machine. The invention further provides an escalator monitoring device, an escalator fault prediction method and device, equipment, a medium and a program product.
