The invention relates to the technical field of split type, and more specifically discloses a split type battery management system and method, and the method comprises the steps: constructing a battery pack temperature classification feature vector through extracting current and voltage signal features in a working state of a battery and an environment temperature value feature, thereby judging whether a heat dissipation device needs to be adjusted or not, and achieving the adjustment of the heat dissipation device. Therefore, the battery performance is optimized, and the service life is prolonged.
