The invention provides a monitoring device and method for steel rail close attachment, and relates to the field of steel rail close attachment monitoring, the device comprises a sliding device, the sliding device comprises a first sliding assembly and a second sliding assembly, and the first sliding assembly and the second sliding assembly are connected through a self-locking connecting device; the tight attaching structure comprises a sliding block, an anti-friction bearing, a connecting arm and a rotating shaft, the rotating shaft is arranged in the anti-friction bearing mounting cavity, the anti-friction bearing is rotationally connected with the rotating shaft, a fixing block is arranged on the peripheral surface of the rotating shaft, and the top of the fixing block makes contact with the bottom of the anti-friction bearing; close attaching structures are arranged in the first sliding assembly and the second sliding assembly, the antifriction bearing in the first sliding assembly is used for making rolling contact with a stock rail, and the antifriction bearing in the second sliding assembly is used for making rolling contact with a switch rail. The device is suitable for monitoring the positions of steel rail closely-attached sections of a steel rail telescopic regulator, a turnout and the like, and the monitoring precision of monitoring data can be ensured.
