The other end of the hoisting rope is connected with an elevator balance weight, the elevator balance weight comprises a balance weight shell, a containing cavity is formed in the balance weight shell, the containing cavity is connected with an automatic liquid filling and taking system, and the elevator further comprises a controller and a weighing sensor. Total mass data signals of the elevator car are fed back to the controller through the weighing sensor, the controller controls the hydraulic pump to input or extract fluid out of the balance weight according to the balance principle, the weight of the balance weight and the weight of the car are made to be consistent, and therefore the power consumption of the traction machine is reduced, and the energy-saving purpose is achieved.
