The invention provides a variable-configuration omnidirectional moving bionic quadruped robot which comprises a base, a driving mechanism and a transmission mechanism. Four sets of transmission branchchains are arranged on the circumference of the base, and the driving mechanism drives the transmission branch chains to be opened and closed at the same time through the transmission mechanism; rodpieces are arranged at the ends of every two adjacent transmission branch chains. The ends of every two adjacent rod pieces are movably connected to form a mechanical leg, the tail end of each mechanical leg can move in any direction through cooperation of all the transmission branch chains, the size of the robot body can be adjusted according to needs, and thus the robot body can penetrate through narrow gaps or holes, the four limbs can move in all directions, and forward, backward, leftward and rightward all-directional movement can be conveniently achieved.
