The invention discloses a portal crane for shipbuilding, relates to the technical field of mechanical equipment, and solves the technical problems of high deadweight and high material cost of a traditional crane. The crane comprises a portal frame, a high car and a low car, wherein the portal frame comprises two floor support legs, and two main beams fixed at the top ends of the two support legs. The main beams are regularly triangular space truss beams and the two main beams are horizontally arranged in parallel from front to back in a spaced manner; each main beam is fixedly provided with a low bearing beam at one side facing towards the other main beam; the low car is mounted on the two low bearing beams through rollers at the bottom; and the high car is mounted on upper chord rods of the two main beams through rollers at the bottom. The crane, provided by the invention, is suitable for ship manufacturing operations.
