Tests were analyzed with special emphasis on slamming endured by "Lu-ship" (Compagnie Maritime Belge) in ballast; conditions leading to slamming, i.e., magnitude of vertical relative motions and relative velocities at forward perpendicular; distribution of slamming decelerations and calculation of "threshold velocities" for different stations along ship length and for different levels of slamming severity are among aspects considered; estimating number of slams in 100 motion oscillations, which is likely to be accepted by ship's master, attainable speed in Beanfort 7 to 8 head seas is determined.
