Paper suggests design guides for wet submersibles based on man's sensory, motor, and cognitive capabilities in water environments; key differences between air and water environments as they affect human performance are noted; implications of environmentally produced differences in performance characteristics are traced to design of wet submersibles; study was made with U S Navy UDT and SEAL team personnel as subjects and Convair Model 14 Swimmer Delivery Vehicle (now designated by Navy as MK 7 Mod O) as test vehicle.
