Paper shows that nonlinear spring rate and nonlinear damping seem to offer most practical method of reducing damaging effects of road shock and vibration; vehicular suspension system, developed by Robinson Technical Products, utilizes helical coil spring into which is inserted compressed stainless steel knit wire cushion (MET-L-FLEX) which carries most of heavy or dynamic loads; advantages are shown.
