This concluding chapter reviews the contents of the book and summarizes the most important aspects of the material presented making sure that the reader is well armed with the tools necessary to appreciate the subtleties of the design, analysis and testing of closed loop control systems. The book focuseS on the use of frequency response, which is perhaps the most commonly used analytical and test methodology used by the control engineering community. The compensation techniques provided the reader with some insight into the design process whereby dynamic elements can be introduced into the control loop to compensate for some of the undesirable dynamic features of the system. Laplace transforms were introduced as a tool supporting the development of transient response solutions for linear systems using simple algebra together with the use of standard tables to represent the various forcing functions and output responses.
