This chapter introduces the implementation processes of robust optimization into the corporate environment and provides complete and detailed strategies behind the process. It then shows compatibility and possible enhancements of any other initiatives like Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) or Six Sigma that an organization may already have in place. The six critical components for a smooth implementation process for robust optimization are leadership commitment, executive leader and the corporate team, effective communication, education and training, integration strategy and bottom line performance. Many initiatives are in popular use in an organization, and some view robust optimization as just another program. However, such programs as quality function deployment (QFD), Pugh analysis, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), test planning, and reliability analysis are much more effective, take less time, and give higher performance with measurable results when combined with robust optimization.
