This chapter discusses the different options for fighting or rising against space threats. The first thing to do is make the invisible visible. The way forward for this is through detecting, characterizing and identifying objects located in space. The goal is to establish space situational awareness (SSA). As an example, the American joint military doctrine pertaining to space operations called Joint Publication 3‐14 (JP 3‐14) grants a central position to SSA, which is considered fundamental in conducting operations. The chapter talks about the symbiotic relation between space and nuclear power. These considerations lead to the subject of the emergence of a strategic revolution caused by the advent of an effective antimissile system. Since nuclear deterrence is mainly based on a force of ballistic missiles, developing the ability to counter vehicles and reentry craft is essentially 'deterring deterrence'. Space strategy therefore benefits from linking with nuclear strategy.
