The Mission Planning and Control Station, or MPCS, is the “nerve center” of the entire UAV system. It controls the launch, flight, and recovery of the air vehicle, receives and processes AV status information from the altitude, airspeed, and other internal sensors of the AV and from the imaging and other sensors of the payload, controls the operation of the payload (often in real time), and provides the interfaces between the UAV system and the outside world.
