International travel today is widely accessible to most individuals. Advancing age and physical or developmental disability no longer pose barriers to travel. Appropriate pre‐travel advice for these travelers should address not only address the prevention of travel‐related illnesses and infections, but should also anticipate and plan for specific challenges that they may be encountered. Adequate preparation in these populations can prevent avoidable illness and injury, and enhance the overall travel experience.
