This chapter looks at the development of a logistic system with the collaborative distribution centers located on the outskirts of Bucharest. All of the centers are located on high‐capacity roads that allow easy transfers between them. Collaboration between the centers is necessary in order to distribute all required freight categories in the urban distribution. The chapter provides specific solutions for the supply of distribution centers relative to different access conditions for providers. The main objective was to transfer the unit loads between the collaborative centers with a minimum of equivalent unit load‐transfer hours in all centers, for all transferred unit loads. Particularly in the last 30 years, increasing efforts had been undertaken to mitigate the local and global negative externalities of the urban road congestion generated by freight distribution.
