Nowadays, Electric Vehicles (EVs) are growing very fast globally, as well as in the Indian scenario, but the availability of EV charging infrastructure is still a big issue. The adoption of EVs offers many technical, economic, environmental, and social benefits compared to internal combustion (IC) engine based vehicles due to the depletion of convention fuel sources and growing pollution problems. For the expansion of the EV market, a charging station infrastructure is very important for providing efficient energy to various EVs. The integration of renewable energy sources with the grid provides improved system performance, such as higher cost economy, stability, reliability with technical and social parameters, and reduced losses, carbon emission, and other pollutants. Therefore, this work proposes a case study for an efficient charging infrastructure, planned with renewable sources, supporting EVs' adoption as an efficient alternative for transportation. The case study of NIT Durgapur system is presented in this work to plan efficient charging station infrastructure including renewable sources like PV solar and wind energy with current systems. The implementation of the presented work is performed using HOMER‐grid and MATLAB software. The system's best feasible solution is confirmed based on minimum net present cost (NPC) and cost of energy (COE) amongst the possible solution of the case study. Furthermore, the comparative investigation of techno‐economic, environmental, and other proposed system parameters are presented, then a case study of the system is studied with and without an EV fast‐charging station. The result analysis noticeably shows that the system's overall performances are improved with proposed systems with renewable sources both with and without EV fast charging stations.
