Steering system is one of the most important subsystems in FSAE racing car. The driver directly controls the movement of the car, and its performance directly affects the performance of the car in driving. At the same time, in the jump of the suspension structure, it will lead to the change of the toe Angle. If the change range of the toe Angle is too large, it will affect the steering and stability of the vehicle. Taking Wuhan University of Technology Blade racing Car as the object, this paper studies the optimization process and method of Steering trapezoid of FSAE racing Car, establishes a virtual model, uses Adams/Car and Adams/Insight to carry out parametric simulation analysis and optimization, improves the relationship between the variation range of runout front beam and the Angle of left and right wheels, and finally determines the parameters of the steering mechanism breaking point. The steering system optimization scheme with improved performance is obtained.
