Existing active safety technology need the participation of the driver, so individual differences of drivers will affect the work efficiency of the active safety devices. Under the circumstance of the MATLAB/Simulink, reaction time sub-model and vehicle longitudinal collision avoidance system model are established to simulate the movement of the car during its following the target vehicle, monitoring, analysis, judgment and taking measures. The results showed that the system can automatically complete the process of real-time monitoring of vehicle speed and spacing, hazardous situation, taking the deceleration measures, and avoid the collision.
