The closed loop control architecture based on event feedback was proposed for airport taxiway head-on conflict prediction and avoidance in A-SMGCS (Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System). Firstly, resource-oriented controlled colored Petri net was proposed and used to model taxiway operation process. Secondly, the controlled taxiing segment concept was proposed, and rules for generating corresponding sub-model were provided. And then, using cycles and cycle chains contained in the sub-model, the sufficient and necessary condition for head-on conflict-free operation of taxiway was provided. The corresponding avoidance control strategies and algorithm for head-on conflict control were proposed. Finally, the example demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
