Formability, impact property and delayed fracture resistance are essential for ultra high strength steel sheets used in automobile door beams. Laboratory experiments have shown that formability, bake hardenability and delayed fracture resistance are effectively improved by lowering the carbon equivalent and controlling the volume fraction of martensite. The effectiveness of these sheet charateristics were confirmed through the production of electro resistance welded pipes.
