The three platforms of the initial Rijn field development were furnished with a dual sacrifical anode system when installed. The system consisted of an equal number of small magnesium anodes to rapidly polarize the structures and aluminum anodes to maintain the structures at protective levels after the magnesium was consumed. The successful technique is outlined after five years' operation.
