Composites samples were subjected to prolonged exposure to the environment in low-Earth orbit on NASA's long-duration exposure facility. The compatibility of various structural composite materials to atomic oxygen attack, micrometeorite, and space debris impact and radiation exposure was monitored. This unique exposure study has provided important and useful data on material compatibility.
