A deep multibeam echosounder, Seafalcon 11, has been developed for oceanographic, offshore, and hydrographic requirements. The sonar system uses five multibeam echosounders to suppress seabed sounding gaps and soundings increase by ratio 10:15 over classical systems. The Seafalcon 11 has been designed with new concepts in bathymetry and imagery and combines an integrated subbottom profiler. The system characteristics were established in order to improve on the quality of today's multibeam echosounders in terms of quantity and quality of soundings, quality of imagery, subbottom profiling penetration.
