The technology presently under development by Brooke Ocean Technology Ltd. is called the telerobotic handling system. This project incorporates robotics, automation and human control to develop an intuitive man-machine interface and a high speed, responsive crane. This will allow the operator to think of the system as an extension of their own arm. This system is being developed specifically for untethered payloads such as autonomous systems and certain remote operated vehicles. The system includes: a high speed crane and end effector; an intuitive man-machine interface or input device; and a computer control system to translate operator inputs into signals to the hydraulics controlling the crane.
