The problems often encountered when acquiring production logs in horizontal wells are discussed. The problems are solved using a method for three wells in the North West Shelf of Australia, located in the Wandoo Field, operated by Mobil. The major objectives in two wells were to determine the inflow profile of oil, detect the main inflow locations of water and determine the flow contributions from sidetracks which intersected lower permeability sands. The third and final well to be logged was geosteered under an existing producer and intercepted a water cone to obtain an estimate of the residual oil saturation in this water cone and observe any movement in the extent of the water cone.
