The existing Quality Assurance Package and Op-tec comprise an on-line automated dye-penetrant system capable of high inspection speeds. The system possesses sensitivity that can be calibrated and detectability that is better than 90%. Any form of documentation can be provided. Discrimination of different surface flaw conditions is possible. Inspected parts can also be marked and tested. With this system, it is easier to meet the intent of ISO 9000 while performing an inspection according to the state of the art and while establishing a sound basis with which to stand up to liability issues.
