Using the crashworthiness analysis code LS-DYNA, a technique was developed for estimating the complex contact resistance that occurs in a window regulator system by merely inputting simple contact characteristics. Using the developed technique, the factors that exert large influences on the handle operating force were identified through a statistical parameter study. Furthermore, a regression function with a large correlation coefficient was obtained, thus generating the handle operating force from various types of parameters without requiring numerical analyses.
