The Shell-Statoil session presented at the 1997 Offshore Technology Conference featured the Troll Phase I Gas Export Project, for which A/S Norske Shell was the development operator, and Statoil is the production operator. The Troll gas development consists of an offshore platform standing in 303 meters of water connected by two multiphase pipelines to an onshore gas processing facility, which can export up to 100 MM Sm3 and 3500 m3 condensate per day. A brief history of the Troll field development is provided, from the discovery of the field in 1979 to the establishment of the major design solutions.
