In the process of vehicle engineering, the importance of computer models for the simulation of vehicle behavior is continually increasing. The full vehicle model Vedyna (Vehicle Dynamics Analysis), which is described in this paper, is able to simulate movements up to a frequency of about 30 Hz. Therefore, the same vehicle model can be used for the investigation of both handling and ride comfort. Vedyna was developed specially for vehicle simulation so that it provides both high model accuracy and real time capability. The model consists of 15 to 30 degrees of freedom, which describe such elements as wheels and tires, elastokinematic suspensions, elastic engine mounts and seats. In this paper measurements from rig tests and driving maneuvers are compared with Vedyna simulations. Additionally, the influence of different model parameters on the simulation results is pointed out.
