In this paper a first application of a new measurement technique is presented. The technique is based on the use of a laser scanning vibrometer and has been applied in order to detect vibrations transmitted to human body in working conditions. The measurement procedure was previously developed, analysed and tested using laboratory test benches with electrodynamic exciters and comparisons with traditional measurement techniques based on accelerometers have been carried out. First results of vibration tests performed on a real machine are here illustrated. The machine consists of a pedestrian controlled tractor working in a fixed position. Reference measurements by means of accelerometers have been performed simultaneously while scanning the hand surface by the laser based measurement system. Results achieved by means of both measurement techniques have been analysed, compared and used in order to compute transmissibility maps of the hand of three operators.
