For the development of a prediction method of airplane noise based on a simulation, two problems have been investigated: the so called flight-effects and the noise directivity pattern of aircrafts. In flight conditions, the noise radiated by the airplane is assumed to be constant for a given thrust. In the case of the take-off roll, this assumption is not true, and a correction has to be applied for the flight-effects. They are due to the increasing speed of the aitplane, which has an important influence on the jet mixing noise. Some measurements have been carried out to describe this phenomenon and a model is proposed to account for these flight-effects. In order to carry out a simulation, the directivity of the airplane has to be defined. Very few studies have been published on this subject, so measurements have also been carried out. A method to measure the directivity during the take-off roll is presented, as well as some results.
