Unique measurements are presented to demonstrate the development of the surface static pressure distribution over a 3D vehicle model as it passes through a cross-wind gust. It is shown that on the windward side of the vehicle the pressures quickly reach those seen from steady state measurements but on the leeward side the flow development is much less rapid and the steady state values are not reached within the duration of the cross-wind gust used for this investigation. The transient side force coefficients show increased values on the windward side relativ to the steady state case.
