The need for detailed fatigue flight loads for rotorcraft structural analysis derived through simulation arises in projects involving mature models and new aircraft design. In contrast to static design maneuver spectra which generally involve a limited set of flight regimes, fatigue structural analysis requires the simulation of complete usage spectra containing a greater variety of regimes. GenHel maneuvering loads, a dynamic flight simulation methodology, has been applied to this task to yield data for airframe and dynamic component fatigue analysis as well as component test plan development. GenHel output has been shown to correlate well with existing flight test data for general flight parameters such as main rotor torque and shaft bending moment, supporting its suitability as an analytical tool for fatigue loads determination.
