In his driving strategy, the driver looks for the information which are necessary for driving his vehicle. The visual system manages most of these data which mainly come from the outside of the passenger compartment. Consequently the visibility is a very important part of safety and comfort for the motorist, especially for the small cars. However, it is not easy to point out the limits of a good or a bad visibility. From this point of view, this article deals with quite a few focus points regarding visibility, how to measure it, with which instruments. In this way, according to the objective data obtainable from these measures, we will be able to compare different cars and to determine ergonomic features to be taken into consideration.
