This paper presents the construction of a semi-active suspension of passenger cars using fuzzy reasoning and the field test The model of the passenger car is described by a nonlinear system with seven degrees of freedom subject to irregular excitation from a road surface. Measuring the suspension travel at every sampling instant, the stage of the damping force of the semi-active suspension is switched by using the fuzzy reasoning. The effectiveness of the proposed semi-active suspension is verified by comparing with the passive suspension in the simulation study and the field test.
