The chassis frame of a heavy lectra haul is analyzed by both modal experiment method and FEM (Finite Element Method). The first ten order modal parameters of the chassis frame have been obtained satisfactorily. These parameters have important reference value in designing the chassis frame properly and provide a necessary basis for the fault diagnostics of the truck. The results of modal experiment fit those of FEM well. For modal experiment of large structure it is very effective to use a force hammer to excite the structure. The results of modal analysis have important reference value for the analysis of dynamic characteristics of overall structure and of dynamic stress and fatigue of the frame. For example, at the middle cross beam of the frame, its deformation is large when it vibrates near 86.25 Hz, and in this area the residual stress is large. Thus, this area is critical. The chassis frame often breaks down in this area practically.
