It is important to analyze the interaction between a driver and a vehicle in order to obtain achieve advanced adaptation of a vehicle for th driver. For this analysis the author has already presented the AR-method for closed-loop systems (Transactions of JSAE, Vol. 27, No.2, pp. 107-112, 1996) and proved the validation of the method in the analysis of a driver-vehicle system under lateral wind disturbance generated by our wind generator. As the next step, the Ar-method was applied to the analysis of a driver-vehicle system under natural lateral wind on a real road. The AR-method, however, cannot identify a drivers dynamics under this conditions because of the nonstationary state of natural wind. This paper presents a new analysis method, Extended AR-method, for nonstationary closed-loop systems. Details of this new method and analysis results are shown.
