The aim of this research is to better understand the influence of traffic conditions (locally and on the whole) on polluting emissions generated on urban and suburban freeway networks. This study relies on traffic measures carried out on the whole network and averaged or aggregated over a 6 minute period. The traffic observation period was limited to a few days. There is an important part of theorical reflexion, which is still going on and leads up to an emission model. This model will allow to study precisely traffic conditions (as measured) and resulting emissions.
