According to the classification of mechanical properties of marine engine equipment components, by using typical examples, this article includes the analysis of 'marine engine exessive deformation failure', 'surface damage failure' and 'fracture failure', as well as their precaution measures. 'Excessive deformation failure' means that the values of elastic deformation and plastic deformation of mechanical parts exceed the designed limit, the result being the drastic change in their shapes and sizes. The foundational cause of 'excessive deformation failure' is that the external stress surpasses the elastic limit of the material or it can be high temperature creeping.
