A small 4WD (4 wheel driven) tractor was tested under four types of travelling conditions in a tilled Kanto loam soil. The results indicated that all the traction data were regressed well with the traction prediction equation by Upadhyaya. Those curves passed through positive points of the slippage axis in the slippage-traction coordinate system. With the assumption, zero true slippage at zero net traction, as a zero condition, the revised regression curves and revised traction data values were obtained. These curves enabled the comparison with each other on the basis of a unique traction data standard. However, there were some troubles in the regression procedure: it was impossible to estimate the unique values of the traction equation parameters independently; and the definition of zero condition was not so clear in terms of soil-tire dynamics, that is, the distinction between 'true' and 'apparent' rolling radii or slippages should more clearly follow the logic of dynamics.
