Kraftstoff : MDO F5 und 18 - 20 Prozent Wasser, Versuche bei 30 und 70 Prozent Nennlast, Anwendung der Theorie der Einzeltropfenverbrennung, Ermittlung der Tropfenoberfläche, physikalisches Modell, Schema der Versuchsanlage, Ermittlung der Betriebsdaten bei unterschiedlichen Wasseranteilen im Kraftstoff (Viskosität 36 cSt).
This paper presents some ideas of the effect of the water-in-fuel (WFE) emulsion water phase on mixing and combustion processes in a diesel engine. A physical model of this effect is based on the theory of a single system of the final number of WFE drops forming a fuel spray in the diesel engine combustion chamber. The increased volume of the WFE cyclic feed provides the increase of the specific quantity of evaporated and consumed WFE fuel component. In this case the combustion time period is reduced. Results of the diesel engine 1ChN26/34 tests, using the WFE of the viscosity 36 cSt proved that at the water content in fuel 18 % to 20 % and the sane period of the fuel and WFE delivery the common spray surface is going to increase by 21 % to 25 %, and the combustion time to reduce by 2.0 %. Then the maximum rate of the heat release and the maximum pressure will increase by 7 % and the indicator fuel consumption will reduce by 2.5 %. The nitrogen oxide emission is defined to the great extent by the value of the maximum combustion pressure.
