With the triple hot-wire technique, an experimental investigation in the three-dimensional wake of a CLARK Y wing were carried out. The vortical flow field, generated by a plain rectangular wing with mounted tip caps, and the influence of three different shaped winglet configurations on the near wake and the behaviour of the tip vortex roll-up has been studied. The time-averaged profiles of the velocity components have been evaluated as well as double and triple products of the fluctuations. The center of the main vortices and the vorticities in plains normal to the mainflow direction are determined. The results may be used as initial and boundary conditions for numerical investigation and their validation.
