The V-22 Osprey wing airfoil was tailored specifically for the flight conditions that are experienced on the tiltrotor wing. Wind tunnel tests of this section indicated that this airfoil satisfied its design goals. These wind tunnel tests were performed having different Reynold numbers, turbulence levels, cove configurations, and trailing-edge thicknesses. Careful evaluation of the data using corrections for these variable parameters shows that the results from the different tests compare favorably. For this study, computational methods, used to resolve the differences in test results from different wind tunnels, provided the most consistent results.
