A new model of rotor dynamics during pitch and roll of a hovering helicopter (or a helicopter in slow axial flight) is presented. This model is based on the aerodynamic model TEMURA (Technon Model of Unsteady Rotor Aerodynamics) that has been developed during recent years. After a description of the new aerodynamic model, its application to calculate the flapping dynamics during pitch is presented. The derivation also includes the calculation of the loads that are transferred to the fuselage. The model is used to study the rotor behavior during pitch and roll. It is shown that the new model is capable of predicting correctly the helicopter off-axis response, a phenomenon that was beyond the capability of previous models.
