A formally fifth order spatially accurate Navier-Stokes solver has been developed upgrading an existing third order spatially accurate scheme. Studies were conducted to ascertain the vortex and flowfield resolving capabilities of the two schemes on very coarse grids. The computed results indicate that the higher order schemes can capture complex flow fields better. The code has been cast as a multiple block solver, to allow for inclusion of additional blocks with relative ease in the future.
