This paper provides an overview of manned and unmanned submersibles; describes in detail the deep submergence Argo-Jason vehicle system; and touches upon the importance of such systems in the exploration of ocean bottom geology and underwater wrecks, such as those of 'Titanic' and 'Bismarck'. The exploration tools for these search operations were Argo and Jason. A comprehensive forensic treatment of the 'Titanic' and 'Bismarck' wrecks is provided, as a matter of interest for history, nautical archaeology, and to show how useful these vehicles are in determining the causes of a ship casualty.
