Some characteristics of hydraulics - such as, for example, high power density, the possibility of transmitting energy over medium distances, and the ability to create great forces - make it suitable for use in mobile applications. This article has shown how automobile hydraulics has developed under the specific conditions of the use in motor vehicles. Components with low construction effort, circuits and devices with low energy losses and low noise, as well as the use of an electric signal circuit, are constructive targets that will further increase the competitiveness of hydraulics against other means of energy transmission in the automobile.
